Reed & Reed Constructors – Woolwich, ME
> Leadership Development for New Supervisors
“You’re drawn into the scene and become part of it. It’s as real as it gets and makes you really think. Because it was so real they were able to engage our employees and solicit honest feedback and real solutions. This truly made them wonder… is that really what I act like?” They left the training with a new perspective and most realized that it does make a difference how you treat people. They’ll never forget this training because Short Fuse nailed it!”

Human Resources Society Training Retreat
> Storytelling – An HR Tool for Engagement
“I want to thank you again for the outstanding program Short Fuse Interactive did for our Human Resources Society. The workshop got all participants actively engaged; mentally, physically and emotionally, and I can see that the methods you used have gone a distance towards getting our staff working together better as a team. Even the introverts realize the value of the presentation. You and David created an atmosphere that elicited trust and honest engagement and got people sharing about their own experiences, while laughing at the same time. It was refreshing not to get another “canned” presentation and to have participated in such an enlightening event. Without hesitation, I would recommend Short Fuse to other groups.”

> Leadership Development
“We truly enjoyed having the chance to work with Short Fuse during our training sessions. I really appreciate the time and energy they spent creating a truly unique and personal learning experience for so many of us at Gentle Giant. I’ve had the chance to chat with a number of folks who attended the sessions, and they’ve all expressed real appreciation for the learning, growth, laughs, and overall experience. I’m pretty confident that the guys look at their roles a bit differently today than prior to the program. I believe that group has a firmer appreciation for their responsibility as a leader, as a “Giant.”

> Team Communication Training
“Short Fuse brought our team communication trainings to life! The scenes focused on resolving conflict and the creation of a hostile work environment. The facilitated discussions engaged people in great dialogue around these issues. The comments afterward indicated the situations presented were real enough to hit home. I would recommend the approach of Short Fuse Interactive, Inc. as an effective way to address the issues of harassment in the workplace for any size company.”

Springbrook Healthcare and Rehab
> Stress Management for the Healthcare Professional
“Kym Dakin’s stress management work shops at Springbrook Healthcare and Rehab are just what the doctor ordered! She gets participants to share their experience with an approach that elicits trust and honest engagement. She provided our staff with the knowledge to combat stress with her many practical tips and proactive tools. Her upbeat approach to teaching/facilitating sets a positive tone which makes participants immediately feel relaxed and ready to learn. Kym gets employees to look at their own role in creating stress and what they can do about it. Everyone without fail benefited from her in-services and she has the distinction of providing ” the best in-service we ever had” according to staff! I attended her in-service and have incorporated some her strategies into my work day. I thank Kym for helping me be more relaxed and productive!”

> Leadership and Team Function
“I wanted to thank you again for the outstanding Leadership Development program Short Fuse Interactive did at MDI Hospital. Our participants are still raving about it! They were actively engaged and, without a doubt, left with a new appreciation of the communication skills essential for leaders. The workshop was particularly effective as a result of the time and effort you and your colleagues put into creating scenarios that accurately depicted OUR issues and OUR culture. It was so refreshing not to get a “canned” presentation. I know I will be recommending Short Fuse whenever I get a chance.“

> Leadership and Professionalism
“Short Fuse interactive was a great addition to our summer camp staff-training program. They helped us to tackle some serious professional matters in a funny and profound way. Working with a staff with a wide age range is a difficult task. However, Kym and her staff worked very hard to make sure that they would deliver a strong message which would provide lively and important conversation. The staff felt like they were included in the process, and not ‘talked at,’ which was well-received by all of our employees. In looking for a creative and engaging way to train employees, I would recommend Short Fuse Interactive Theatre as part of your training regimen.”

I definitely recommend Short Fuse for training opportunities in the future.”

Maine Association for Dispute Resolution Professionals:
> Mediation Training Program
“On behalf of the Maine Association for Dispute Resolution Professionals, I want to thank Short Fuse for their huge role in making our ‘Fish Bowl’ mediation training program last week so successful. The mediators I spoke with afterwards told me that they quickly forgot that there was an audience staring at them and I know this was because Short Fuse created such a realistic place within which they could do their mediation work. The cast’s ability to stop and start and stay in character was awe inspiring, and enabled them to insightfully reveal—in ways that could never happen with ‘real’ parties—how characters were reacting to the mediation process and how they really felt as a result of the mediator’s behavior and intentions. As was mentioned during the feedback session, using non-actors as role players just doesn’t come close to being as useful. Using professional actors allowed everyone to concentrate on the mediation itself instead of on the role play device, making the fish bowl a tremendously effective way to learn mediation technique AND entertaining at the same time. Thank you for sharing your talents.
